“Near the forfront of the next generation of parenting tools...Red Tricycle is not your mother's parenting aide. Readers are razr-phone-toting, book-club-joining moms who at least know what a blackberry is."

There’s a bunch of Mom’s Night Out-type events around town this month (October) - see the items highlighted below - so stick a pizza in the microwave for your Sig-O, grab a girlfriend and hit the town. Just out of curiosity - if you were planning a night out with your girlfriends/playgroup/etc, what is the biggest draw for you - cocktails, food, fun (movie, shopping or other activity?) or just a good old fashioned gabfest? For us, cocktails are a high priority - and the better the booze (champagne, top-shelf margaritas) the better the party, we say. Dressing up is also a draw, as we rarely get out of sweats anymore - fashion show or charitable event maybe? The most appealing part of a night out is the idea of having someone else organize it all so all you have to do is show up, which is why the events below are so appealing. Send us your thoughts for a fab night out - we’ll incorporate them into a RT GNO (that’s Red Tricycle Girls’ Night Out).
Urban Kids Play Mom’s Night Out - Thursday, October 2, 6:30 - 8:30. The Queen Anne boutique is hosting a mom’s night out with champagne (score!) and shopping.
Ladies Margarita Night at Paint the Town - Thurs October 2, 7: - 10 The U-Village ceramic studio promises painting, good music, kiln-baked nachos and margaritas! $10 plus price of bisque…
Jill Bucy Skincare - Thurs, October 2, 6:30 - 9:30 Enjoy wine, appetizers and an exhibit of the work by Icelandic painter Ragna Sigrunardottir. Also, get a taste of the yummy skincare treatments during the evening.
Massage for the Cure - Monday October 6. Indulge in a one-hour massage to benefit “Massage for the Cure”. Suggested donations of $50 go to the Puget Sound affiliate of Susan G Komen for the Cure. Appointments are being taken now at many Massage Envy locations.
Julep Sex & the City Girls Night Out - Every Thursday evening in October, you can book a mani or pedi at Julep and enjoy private screening of the Sex & the City movie, complete with wine and popcorn.
Kids & Clay Ladies Night - Friday, Oct 10 and Oct 24, 7- 10 pm. Paint ceramics, sip wine and enjoy appetizers to honor when who have survived or are dealing with breast cancer.

what about dads night out? it seems like there are never any options to get together with other dads (with or without the kids). we wouldn’t turn down free booze, food and massages.
