“Near the forfront of the next generation of parenting tools...Red Tricycle is not your mother's parenting aide. Readers are razr-phone-toting, book-club-joining moms who at least know what a blackberry is."
Seattle Post Intelligencer April 2006
Thank you for being so smart, clever and witty! I’m enjoying my subscription and appreciate what you’re doing.
Your information reads like YOU are having fun and that’s worth a lot! Thanks for many good ideas.

As a parent, you know when your child is at their best. Usually, it's when they're comfortable at home, surrounded by their own stuff! Photographer Barbie Hull recognizes that too, which is why all her photo shoots are on location...your house, your backyard, or your favorite park. She likes to capture everyday moments that show children doing what they do best-being themselves. Whether it's reading books, playing on the slide, or gardening in the backyard, that is when the real moments (and smiles) happen. One of her favorite photo shoots involved re-creating a birthday party, complete with messy cupcakes and kids in the tub afterwards with soapy hair. "My philosophy is, when they're having fun, the real person comes out," says Barbie.
Barbie, who studied photography at the Seattle Art Institute, has lots of tricks up her sleeves to make that happen. She comes armed with backdrops, bubble machines, and fun stickers (to mark the spot) for when you do want junior to stand in a certain place . She even lets the kids snap a few pictures as well! Barbie will chat with parents prior to the photo shoot to determine what style they are looking for and how they plan to use the pictures in the end. Her packages are customized to your needs and she provides a CD to you as well. She shoots with a combination of black & white film and digital. After the shoot, it takes 3-4 days before she posts your pictures online via a password protected slideshow so you can show them to friends and family.
Don't miss the blog portion of her website where she posts her memories and favorite photos from each photo shoot. As you read it, you get a sense of her enthusiasm for her clients and just how much fun she is having connecting with people. If she's having that much fun, you can bet you & your kids will too. She'll be like part of the family before you know it!
