“Near the forfront of the next generation of parenting tools...Red Tricycle is not your mother's parenting aide. Readers are razr-phone-toting, book-club-joining moms who at least know what a blackberry is."
Seattle Post Intelligencer April 2006
Thank you for being so smart, clever and witty! I’m enjoying my subscription and appreciate what you’re doing.
Your information reads like YOU are having fun and that’s worth a lot! Thanks for many good ideas.

Had your fill of Wheels on the Bus? If you and Little One are ready for something a little more stimulating, check out the language program at Sponge, the wildly popular language school with Seattle and Eastside locations. "Dynamic! Inventive! Encouraging!" are just a few of the adjectives parents use when raving about the teachers, programs and family-friendly curriculum at Sponge.
Your child will be immersed in the culture and language of your choice through entertaining songs, stories, dances, and even crafts (depending on the age). With small class sizes (up to 8) and engaging, native-speaking instructors from all over the world, your little one can learn the languages of Spanish, French, Mandarin, or Japanese. A typical class session is very similar to a preschool type setting with hello & goodbye songs, weekly themes, story time, snack time etc...
The fascinating research , which inspired founder Jackie Friedman Mighdoll to found Sponge, shows us that kiddies' brains really are like sponges and age 0-5 is the ideal time for them to soak up languages (some families even take two languages classes at the same time). Parents appreciate the variety of classes offered (including weekends) as well the convenient locations on both sides of the bridge. Families who attend Sponge come from a wide variety of backgrounds; some want to learn a language alongside their child, some already live in a bilingual household and use Sponge as part of their heritage learning, and others just really want to give their kids a boost in their language skills in our globally-minded society. You can try a sample class or sign up for a week-long summer camp before registering for a semester. Be sure to look for Sponge's free community events throughout the year where they'll share their passion for language and culture.
PS Unless, you're a native speaker, don't be surprised if Junior gets the accents down better than you...it's pretty typical!
Bonus: Mention Red Tricycle and get $25.00 off tuition for new families.
