“Near the forfront of the next generation of parenting tools...Red Tricycle is not your mother's parenting aide. Readers are razr-phone-toting, book-club-joining moms who at least know what a blackberry is."
Seattle Post Intelligencer April 2006

Pregnant women entering their ninth month are used to checking in regularly with their doctor, their spouse and family members. Many savvy mamas also find themselves reporting their progress to their new best friend, labor and delivery photographer Sandra Coan. Coan, a seasoned wedding, pregnancy and baby photographer, began documenting the arrival of new babies at the urging of her clients, (many of whom are physicians). Their desire to document every important life event naturally evolved into the birth of their children.
Coan shoots c-sections as well as vaginal births (clients call when they are 5-7 centimeters dilated) and captures every moment from the intensity of labor through the first bath. Clients rave not only about Coan's tasteful and intimate portraits, but also her doula-like presence during the delivery (she'll step out into the waiting room to give family members a progress report).
A former kindergarten teacher, Coan has taken her passion for children and families in a new direction and has spent the past eight years building a loyal following among Seattle families, particularly those with multiples. As you flip through her portfolio, you'll see an significant number of twins and multiples portraits. As the mom of 21-month-old twins herself, Coan has a unique knack for snagging a great shot of all babies involved (and word has spread).
From your pregnancy and delivery to your little one's first photo or birthday party, Sandra Coan will be there (like your new best friend).
