“Near the forfront of the next generation of parenting tools...Red Tricycle is not your mother's parenting aide. Readers are razr-phone-toting, book-club-joining moms who at least know what a blackberry is."
Seattle Post Intelligencer April 2006

Excited parents, caregivers, and kiddos have been peeking through a Greenwood Ave. window for weeks; they're drawn by the orange, purple, and green décor. Finally, with the recent grand opening, they can to walk through the doors to playmatters. Valerie Anker, a child development expert, dreamed up the space. Her plan is to give families a place to get together where adults will be social and kiddos will have a blast. "You can only go to each other's living rooms so many times," Anker says. "Especially in Seattle, where it rains, people need a place to go." The biggest and best playroom in town is filled with a train table, Lego table, play kitchen, work bench, puppet theater, dollhouse, easel, wooden toys and puzzles, and more tools for dramatic play, art, and small motor skills. Sit on a bench surrounding the open playspace perimeter, sip a cup of coffee or juice from playmatters, or bring in lunch. Become a member for the best rates, or stop by on a drop-in basis. Anker has several workshops scheduled, and plans to become a venue for community members with kiddo-centric talents to share. Expect to be invited to hear musicians, meet authors, and enjoy a craft classall for family and friends to enjoy together.
