“Near the forfront of the next generation of parenting tools...Red Tricycle is not your mother's parenting aide. Readers are razr-phone-toting, book-club-joining moms who at least know what a blackberry is."
Seattle Post Intelligencer April 2006
Thank you for being so smart, clever and witty! I’m enjoying my subscription and appreciate what you’re doing.

It's
time. You've been putting it off. Little One needs to go to the dentist!
But where? Enter Dr. James M. Thomas and his new Downtown Bellevue
practice. From the minute you walk in and see this beautiful open
space (built with many earth-friendly materials in appreciation of
the Northwest), the scrumptious lime green & orange walls, the game
& book nook, and the larger-than-life black & white photos of smiling
kids with toothy grins, it hits you: My kid will love this
place!
More importantly, Dr. T loves his job. He sees his role as an educator
and partner for parents & kids and offers much more than you'd expect
including dietary recommendations, tips for preventing mouth trauma,
thumb-sucking solutions, and tips for at-home dental care. Decay Happens;
even in baby teeth. It's important to keep little teeth healthy and
Dr. T likes to start seeing children by the age of one but says not
to despair if you're getting a late start! Prevention is key and getting
a jump-start on a lifetime of oral health is the main goal.
Dr. T's philosophy is Tell, Show, Do. A first visit typically starts
in his office with doctor/parent/child education, a knee-to-knee exam,
and a "sit-down on the floor" toothbrushing lesson prior
to the dental chair exam. Once in the chair, big kids will get a hoot
out of watching the whole process on the ceiling-mounted TV with the
mouth-cam while little ones may prefer to watch a movie. Kids get
to develop their own digital x-rays and he will even email them to
you at home.
It's important to Dr. Thomas that every child has a positive experience
and he makes sure every patient feels they did something right! Kids
walk away with a smile on their face and new enthusiasm for taking
care of their teeth. (Plus a prize and a cool t-shirt that says "My
Dentist Rocks.")
