Argosy Christmas Ship sails to Mercer Island and Madrona
This month, the Spirit of Seattle, decked out in garlands and
white X-mas lights, has been making its nightly voyages as part
of Seattle's wildly popular Christmas Ship Festival. Gather on
the shore (near a bonfire, hopefully) or purchase a place onboard
the Spirit to hear the happy music from the Columbia Children's
Choir, see the twinkling lights and watch as smaller boats join
in the fun, forming a huge, festive flotilla.
When: Sunday, December 18

Kirkland, at 5:00 pm; will hover near Luther Burbank park (at
the northeast end of Mercer Island) from 5:50 - 6:10 pm and then
be near Madrona's shoreline from 6:40 - 7:00 pm; returns to Carillon
Point at 7:45 pm
Tickets: Free to watch from shore. To ride on the Christmas
Ship: $31 for adults; $18 for children.

Come watch young talent perform theater and dance (tap, ballet
and other forms) in creative costumes. Some performers will be

Columbia City Bakery -- Kids go nuts for the bear claws and morning
buns at this mod orange-toned, blonde-wood bakery. Go early to
get one of the coveted few seats the yummy smelling place opened
in mid-October but apparently word has spread quickly.
What s in it for you: A latte or double tall Americano
with Caffe Vitta espresso to keep you alert and sophisticated
treats such as brioche and quince cream danishes.
